Mirziyoyev to depart for Belgium

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Brussels, Belgium, on October 23–24 at the invitation of President of the European Council António Costa and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, according to the press service of the Uzbek leader.
The visit program includes bilateral talks with the heads of the main institutions of the European Union in the EU capital.
The discussions will focus on further developing and expanding multifaceted relations within the framework of the agreements reached during the high-level meeting held in Samarkand in April this year.
Particular attention will be paid to promoting specific projects and programs in key areas of practical cooperation, including trade and economy, investment and finance, innovation, energy, transport and communications, science, and education.
It is also planned to sign the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
According to the Presidential Press Service, within the framework of the visit, the Uzbek leader will hold meetings with Belgium’s leadership and meet with the heads of leading European companies and banks to accelerate joint plans for technological and industrial cooperation.
Earlier, it was reported that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev would pay an official visit to Brussels on October 24, 2025. The Euronews outlet described the visit as an important step marking a new stage in Uzbekistan’s relations with the European Union.
