The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, penned a letter to Ibrahim Raisi, his Iranian counterpart, following the tragic terrorist attack in Kirman, Iran. He expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Uzbekistan government and its citizens, as reported by the IRNA news agency.
"The devastating terrorist attack in Kirman, resulting in the loss of numerous Iranian lives and injuries, deeply saddens us. In these grievous moments, I extend my sincere condolences to His Excellency and the fraternal Iranian people," stated Mirziyoyev in his letter.
Additionally, the President of Uzbekistan extended sympathies to the families of the deceased and wished a swift recovery to the injured.
As a reminder, on January 3, two explosions occurred in Kirman during a ceremony commemorating the fourth anniversary of Qasim Suleiman's death, the Quds Force commander. Local reports indicated that over 100 individuals were victims of this terrorist attack. However, the Ministry of Health clarified the count, attributing discrepancies to previous double counting. Subsequently, it was confirmed that one of the two suicide bombers was a citizen of Tajikistan.
