Uzbekistan will not go back from the path of democratic reforms that began six years ago.  This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his speech at the ceremony held in the park “New Uzbekistan” on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of Independence.

According to the president, today’s Uzbekistan and its residents are very different from yesterdays.

“We have many reasons to say one truth: today’s Uzbekistan is not yesterday’s one, today our people are not yesterday’s people,” - the president said.

He noted that despite the negative outcomes of the pandemic and the global crisis, the State is courageously on the way to building a free, flourishig, and prosperous life.

“We are all well aware that it is not easy to build the New Uzbekistan, of which we aspire to today, to create the foundations of the third Renaissance. There are many conditions and criteria for such a great task.  However, the most important and decisive factor is the path of democratic reforms

We will therefore never go back from this path, which is in the best interests of our people.  No matter how difficult, we will only move forward”, - Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
