The cotton varieties (Bukhara, Ravnak, Porlok, Sultan) created by scientists with a yield of up to 100 quintals are not delivered to the clusters, and farmers do not know which seeds to sow and where to get them.  This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a video-conference devoted to measures to increase exports of textile products based on deep processing of cotton and increase cotton production through knowledge-intensive seed production and agrotechnology.

It is noted that in recent years, the day and night temperatures have remained the same, and the proliferation of new species of insects requires the increase of varieties resistant to these conditions.

It's time to change the way we fertilize cotton and regulate herbicides and pesticides.

Therefore, it was decided to establish a Cotton Growing council under the president headed by Minister of Innovation Ibrakhim Abdurakhmanov. The council:
• annually determines the propagation and planting of high-yielding and early-maturing varieties by region for each cluster;
• develops a fertilization scheme adapted to climate and temperature changes, regulates the use of herbicides and pesticides;
• develops agro-technologies for each region to control insects, given that they are the biggest problem in the coming years.
