Mirziyoyev arrives in Ashgabat

5399On October 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan arrived in Ashgabat for a business visit, as reported by the President’s press service.
Upon arrival at the airport, the President was greeted by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Tangriguli Atakhalliev, along with other officials.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev will deliver a speech at the plenary session of the international forum, "Interdependence of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development," commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and philosopher Makhtumquli Firoghi.
In addition to his address, the President will hold several bilateral meetings during the event.
For reference, on October 11, Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, will host the forum, "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – Peace and Development," which celebrates the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumquli Firoghi. The conference will be attended by the presidents of over 10 countries and leaders of major international organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the International Turkish Cultural Organization (TURKSOY), the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and UNESCO.
It is worth noting that leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan have already confirmed their participation in the forum. Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkiyan to discuss the escalating crisis in the Middle East during the event. Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also arrived in Turkmenistan on October 10 for an official visit.
