Mirziyoyev extends birthday wishes to “Arqadag”

Today, June 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, had a telephone conversation with the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Consultative Council of the National Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to congratulate him on his birthday. This was reported by the President's press service.

Mirziyoyev wished good health, happiness, and great success to the national leader of the Turkmen people, as well as peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan.

"The historical role of the national leader in the establishment and rapid development of modern Turkmenistan, increasing the country's prestige in the international arena, and strengthening multifaceted Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership relations was especially noted," the report said.

The progress achieved in bilateral cooperation over the past years was noted with particular satisfaction. The volume of trade is increasing, a cross-border trade zone is being established, and important joint economic and humanitarian programs are being implemented.

The leaders emphasized the importance of developing new cooperation projects for the development of industry, transport, energy, agriculture, interregional, and cultural exchange at the upcoming meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission.

Current aspects of regional cooperation in Central Asia were also discussed.

For information, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was born on June 29, 1957, in the Ashgabat region. Berdimuhamedov, with the title "Arqadag," was the President of Turkmenistan from December 21, 2006, to March 19, 2022. Since January 21, 2023, he has been serving as the chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan.
