Mirziyoyev held a meeting on energy issues in Andijan

A separate company will be established for the use of solar energy in social facilities.  200 million dollars will be given to this project.  It was announced today, 1 February, at a meeting dedicated to the popularization of renewable energy sources and measures to ensure employment of the population, which was held in the Andijan region under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It is noted that the demand for electricity in Andijan, Fergana, and Namangan regions has increased by 40% in recent years.

"In such conditions, the most correct solution is to increase renewable energy sources," says Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Therefore, the meeting focused on the projects of solar and wind farms.

"This year, two 600-megawatt solar power plants are planned to be built in Pop and Fergana districts.  It is possible to build 41 micro-hydroelectric power stations in Andijan, 32 in Namangan, and 27 in Fergana," the President noted.

Also, the President added at the meeting that it is necessary to use renewable energy sources in large enterprises, in general, to transfer them to self-sufficiency in electricity.

"A separate company will be established for the use of solar energy in social facilities. 200 million dollars will be available for this.  The company itself installs solar panels and water heating devices and sells "green energy" to budget enterprises.  It was also noted the need to replace 3,000 old boilers in social facilities with modern equipment," the report said.

At the end of the meeting, measures to save energy resources were shown, and the task of creating an attractive system for the population to use solar energy was set.
