Mirziyoyev congratulates Berdimuhamedov on birthday from New York

On September 22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the presidential press service reported.
During the call, Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated Berdimuhamedov on his birthday, wishing him good health, personal happiness, and peace, stability, and prosperity for the people of Turkmenistan.
"The two leaders discussed current issues related to the further development and strengthening of friendly, good-neighborly, and strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan", the report stated.
The report noted with satisfaction the establishment of active political dialogue and effective interdepartmental contacts.
Special attention was given to expanding trade turnover and advancing cooperation projects in industry and energy. The construction of the Shavot-Tashovuz trade zone is nearing completion. Uzbekistan also plans to host a Forum of Regions, an exhibition, and Days of Turkmen Culture and Cinema.
The presidents also reviewed pressing issues on the regional agenda and the schedule of upcoming high-level events.
At the conclusion of the conversation, Mirziyoyev once again extended his heartfelt congratulations to the president and people of Turkmenistan on the upcoming Independence Day.
It should be noted that Mirziyoyev is currently in New York to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He is scheduled to deliver a speech at the UN General Debate on September 23.
