The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, defined the most important directions of government activity. He spoke about this today, November 20, at the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

It is noted that, first of all, it is necessary to maintain the macroeconomic balance and ensure an economic growth rate of 6-7 percent in the next five years. In this, the main task will be to achieve an inflation rate of 5-6 percent, a budget deficit of 3 percent, and to increase the annual lending volume to 30 billion dollars.

During this period, it was emphasized that the government should manage to absorb at least 100 billion dollars worth of foreign investments, increase the annual export volume to 45 billion dollars, and increase the share of finished products to 50%.

It was shown that there are possibilities to increase the flow of foreign tourists to 15 million people and the export of tourism services to 5 billion dollars in 5 years.

At the same time, it is necessary to turn digital technologies into a main tool in "taking out of the shadows" of the informal economy. In particular, it will be an important task to further encourage cashless payments and increase the share of online payments to 60% in the coming year.

It was noted that the main measures have been implemented within the framework of cooperation with the World Trade Organization and that Uzbekistan will become a member of this organization in the coming years.
