In April, the "Modern Women" club hosted an event named "Atlas Party" to showcase national attire, sharing videos of the occasion on social media. Subsequently, a video surfaced featuring derogatory remarks by an unidentified individual towards the participating women, sparking widespread discussions. The Ministry of Internal Affairs responded to the incident.

Following the leak, several participants of the "Atlas Party" lodged complaints with law enforcement agencies against the perpetrator.

Through a swift investigation, the individual, identified as M.D., born in 1988 in the Syrdarya region, was located. On April 23, M.D. confessed during questioning at the Shaykhontohur district police department that his derogatory comments stemmed from personal religious beliefs regarding the promotion of Atlas attire.

The Shaykhontohur District Court duly processed the case under Article 183 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility ("Petty hooliganism"), resulting in M.D. being sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention.

In response, the ministry urged citizens to adhere to societal norms and national legislation.

The Family and Women's Committee also condemned the incident, denouncing the disparagement of event participants on social media as an affront to the honor and dignity of women in the country.
