Foreign labor migration agency was abolished

The Foreign Labor Migration Agency's activities have been terminated, and the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers has been established. This was outlined in the Presidential Decree "On Priority Measures to Reform the Migration Process Management System," adopted on October 17.

According to the decree, the fund for supporting individuals working abroad and protecting their rights and interests will be transferred to the new Migration Agency, and a Migration Fund will be established based on this.

The newly established agency will serve as the authorized national executive body responsible for implementing state policies regarding foreign labor migration, coordinating the activities of state bodies, and providing state services in this field.

Starting January 1, 2025:

• The agency will be permitted to carry out inspections of private employment agencies.
• It will be accountable for reports based on inspection results and must post information on violations detected within five days in the "Work Abroad" electronic program.

It is noteworthy that the Agency for Waste Management and Development of a Circular Economy was also established in Uzbekistan by a Presidential Decree on September 26.
