17553The Compulsory Enforcement Bureau (CEB) has cautioned citizens to avoid being deceived by scammers falsely using the name of the CEB.
Recently, messages have been circulating on social media, particularly on Telegram, claiming that citizens are owed money by the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau and instructing them to download certain unknown applications.
These messages are not affiliated with the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau, and citizens have been previously alerted to be wary of such cyber fraud attempts.
"It is important to note that official notifications regarding debts and enforcement actions from the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement are communicated through mobile SMS and a dedicated 'CEB' info number," the report states.
The applications promoted through Telegram are actually fraudulent schemes. Once downloaded or used, these applications allow scammers to obtain citizens' bank card details (such as codes) and steal their money.
Earlier, the Tashkent City MDIA discovered a rise in the victims of this new type of fraud and issued a warning to citizens.
