Government commission formed after gas explosion in mosque

On March 31, a government commission was formed following a gas explosion at the Ahmadali Hoji mosque in Andijan region earlier in the day. This was reported by the Prime Minister's press secretary, Bekzod Khidoyatov.

The report states that a relevant decree from the Cabinet of Ministers was adopted to provide comprehensive assistance to the families of those who died in the accident at the mosque and to offer emergency medical care to the injured. The decree also mandates the investigation of the causes of the incident and measures to prevent similar emergencies in the future.

The government commission will be led by Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov.

According to preliminary information, three people died as a result of the explosion, while 10 others were injured and transported to the hospital.

As a reminder, Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov, who was in the valley when the incident was reported, along with Minister of Emergency Situations Major General Botir Kudratkhodjaev, arrived in the Izboskan district. Later, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazar, Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, also visited the scene. A preliminary investigation into the incident is currently underway.
