The first month of spring came. This year, as is often the case in Uzbekistan, a few days in February were warm.
According to the Hydrometeorology Service Center, March will also begin with a rise in temperature. From March 1 to March 4, the temperature will rise gradually, and by March 4, the temperature will rise to 20-23 degrees. These days are expected to be mostly dry, except for some parts of the republic, where small rains may occur during the day and night of 1 March until 2 March.
From March 5, the weather will start to deteriorate. In the first weeks of March, there will be rains, thunderstorms, some strong winds, and the temperature of the air will drop almost to normal.
Then, by the end of the month, erratic weather is expected. The first month of spring is characterized by sharp temperature swings, with periods of rapid warming alternating with periods of severe cold, and sometimes short-term rains and snow, as well as night declines to negative temperatures.
March 1972 was the coldest in the last 50 years, and even in the third week of March the night temperature dropped to 10-15 Celsius C.
In recent years, March in Uzbekistan has become warmer. During 2008, 2016, and 2018 March was among the warmest month observed all year. In the warmest days of March, temperatures rose to 30-32 cc, and in parts of the south to 35-37 cc.
In Uzbekistan, March is considered the rainiest month of the year in terms of both rainfall and rainy days. Except for the northern areas and the desert zone, the average rainfall in March is between 10 and 15 days.
In the last 10 years, 2013 and March 2014 were the years with the highest rainfall. During these years, precipitation and snowfall were frequent in the early months, sometimes with heavy rains, and reached a monthly value of one and a half to two months.
March 1998 was the snowiest in 25 years, with Tashkent having 9 days of snowfall with a maximum height of 22 cm
