Previously, it was reported that in Shahrixon district of Andijan Region, Governor Hikmatillo Dadakhanov destroyed tandoors at local eateries during an ecological raid. Following the incident, he received a formal reprimand. In response, Bobur Bekmurodov, Chairman of the nationwide “Yuksalish” movement and a member of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, commented on the case.
Bekmurodov stressed that the damage caused by the destruction of the tandoors must be compensated.
“This must be done from the personal funds of the official who gave the illegal order. No one has the right to damage an entrepreneur’s property,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
For context, Article 61-2 of the Administrative Liability Code (intentional destruction or damage of property) states that deliberately destroying or damaging another person’s property, even in small amounts (up to 30 times the base calculation unit, or 12,360,000 UZS), may result in a fine of up to five times the base calculation unit.
It is worth noting that earlier, in Buvayda district of Fergana Region, deputy district governor Saidali Khizirov reportedly used force against a National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change inspector, Ahrorjon Niyozov, and had him taken to the district police department. Khizirov was later dismissed, and a criminal case was opened against him.
