Pre-school education agency was abolished

The Preschool Education Agency's functions have been dissolved and reassigned to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education. This change was outlined in the President's decree titled "On measures to improve the state management system in the field of preschool and school education," signed on July 2.

The ministry has been given several new responsibilities, such as:

• Creating conditions for the comprehensive intellectual, moral, aesthetic, and physical development of preschool children, incorporating advanced international practices.
• Introducing modern, innovative pedagogical technologies, as well as effective educational methods and training processes into preschool education.
• Enhancing the curriculum, programs, and educational-methodical resources for preschool education to ensure alignment with general secondary education programs.
• Ensuring the gradual inclusion of all children in preschool education by fostering a competitive environment between public and private preschool institutions.

As a reminder, during the administrative reform at the end of 2022, the Ministries of Pre-School Education and Public Education were merged to form the Ministry of Pre-School and School Education. Hilola Umarova was appointed as the head of this new ministry, with Agrippina Shin, the former minister of preschool education, becoming the first deputy minister and director of the agency.
