An Uzbek citizen who had been in a difficult situation in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, since February 2024, has been repatriated. This information was reported by the "Dunyo" news agency.

According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Jeddah, the citizen traveled to Saudi Arabia in January this year to visit family members and was later admitted to Ibn Sina Hospital in Mecca after suffering a stroke. Due to the expiration of his visa and a travel ban, all attempts to return to Uzbekistan had been unsuccessful.

During this time, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Jeddah provided necessary advisory support to I.I.'s family, and diplomats facilitated his return to Uzbekistan in collaboration with a Saudi travel company.

After resolving all related issues, on August 22, travel documents for the patient's return were issued, and the necessary medical equipment was transported from the hospital to Jeddah International Airport.

As a result, on August 23, citizen I.I. and his son J.I. were flown to Tashkent, accompanied by a doctor.

We would like to remind you that earlier, with the support of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Almaty, minors who had been left unattended in Kazakhstan for various reasons were also repatriated
