Mirziyoyev and Golob sign joint statement, ink multiple cooperation deals

On May 22, following high-level negotiations in Ljubljana, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Slovenia Robert Golob signed a joint statement. The news was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

A formal ceremony for the exchange of bilateral documents was held in the presence of both leaders. The following agreements were signed:

- Agreement on exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports;
- Agreement on cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture;
- Agreement on cooperation in transport and logistics;
- Agreement on cooperation in the development of "smart" cities;
- Agreement on cooperation in standardization;
- Agreement on cooperation in water resources management;
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism.

As a reminder, on May 21, President Mirziyoyev arrived in Ljubljana on an official visit at the invitation of Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar. On May 22, an official welcoming ceremony was held at Congress Square in Ljubljana. That same day, President Mirziyoyev held talks with President Pirc Musar in both restricted and extended formats with the participation of official delegations at the Presidential Palace. He also met with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob.
