Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that during his meeting with Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the heads of state did not drink alcohol — they drank only juice.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Minsk on July 8 for a two-day official visit. That evening, the heads of state held a one-on-one meeting and an informal dinner. On July 9, the two leaders held talks in a narrow format.

After the official welcoming ceremony, a joint photo session was held. After the photo session, while speaking to journalists standing nearby, President Lukashenko asked, “Are we doing well? How do we look?”

“We look good, don’t we? We did not drink yesterday. Juice, only juice. The President [of Uzbekistan] does not drink,” the Belarusian leader joked.

It is worth noting that following the talks, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a declaration on establishing strategic partnership relations.
