Today 15 September, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with citizen of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who came to the country to participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

At the beginning of the meeting Alexander Lukashenko thanked the president for the invitation and expressed sincere gratitude for the support at the beginning of the procedure of admission of the Republic of Belarus to this authoritative international organization.

There was an exchange of topical issues on the bilateral agenda, progressive expansion of multilateral practical partnership, international and regional policy.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that Uzbek-Belarusian relations are successfully developing in the spirit of friendship and partnership.

Mutual trade and economic cooperation intensified.  Trade increased by 44% last year and 12% in the first seven months of this year.

The parties agreed to expand the network of trade houses and logistics centers in two countries, launch the project of accelerated food delivery «Agroexpress», the introduction of an electronic certification system of origin of goods.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Belarus noted the need to develop a mutually beneficial partnership in production cooperation in the engineering, agro-industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical and electrical industries.

The importance of effective use of the potential of the territories of the two countries was emphasized.  Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to hold the second Interregional Forum in Uzbekistan.

The parties noted with satisfaction that cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian fields, especially in the fields of education and film, is being actively developed.
