5510Twenty tons of gold reserves have been discovered on 100 hectares of land in the Kitab district of the Kashkadarya region. Several potential investors have expressed readiness to invest $100–150 million to extract the gold using a closed mining method that minimizes environmental impact. It was announced that this deposit should be put up for auction. The statement was made on June 20 at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to the comprehensive development of the region.
It was also reported that Kashkadarya aims to attract $3.5 billion in investment this year. In the past five months alone, investment in the districts of Koson, Kitab, and Chirakchi has nearly doubled.
Despite this growth, industrial development has not yet reached 12 known deposits in the region. In the building materials sector, 16 projects worth $150 million have been prepared, and the relevant sites have been ordered to be auctioned.
In addition to the Kitab deposit, another 39 tons of gold have been identified across five promising locations in the same district. Moreover, Chirokchi district holds an estimated 10,000 tons of rare metals. Geological exploration is scheduled to begin in these areas.
