Young people who wish to learn a foreign language will be eligible for subsidies under the “2+6” program. The government approved the regulation “On the procedure for allocating subsidies to cover part of the costs of studying foreign languages in youth training centers” by a resolution adopted on October 8.

According to the regulation, the “2+6” program stipulates that if an applicant who holds a certificate confirming at least the minimum required level of foreign language proficiency pays for the first two months of study at their own expense, a subsidy will be provided to cover the cost of the following six months of study. The subsidies will be allocated within the limits of funds available in the State Youth Policy Support Fund under the Youth Affairs Agency.

Under the “2+6” program, young people will receive monthly subsidies in the following amounts:

  •  In Tashkent — up to twice the minimum wage;
  •  In the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regional centers — up to 1.5 times the minimum wage;
  •  In districts (cities) — up to the amount of the minimum wage.

The Youth Affairs Agency will allocate subsidies to cover foreign language training costs in 2025–2026 and up to 20,000 applicants annually until 2031.

If the number of young people receiving subsidies in a given year exceeds 20,000, the allocation of new subsidies for that year will be suspended until the following year.

Applicants must be registered in accordance with the established procedure through an electronic platform used to rate training centers. Subsidies under the “2+6” program will only be allocated to training centers integrated into this electronic system, which allows daily monitoring of attendance and participation in classes.

It is worth noting that earlier, it was announced that businesses in Uzbekistan employing persons with disabilities of groups I and II will receive subsidies of up to 50 million soums.
