Gamblers detained in Khorezm, drug dealers arrested in Andijan

Individuals involved in organizing gambling activities and drug trafficking have been detained during operational measures carried out in Khorezm and Andijan regions, the State Security Service reported.

In Khorezm region’s Yangiarik district, an operational raid revealed that a man born in 1965 had organized gambling games at his residence. A total of 32 million soums in cash and playing cards were seized from five individuals participating in the gambling activities.

Meanwhile, as part of anti-narcotics operations in Andijan region’s Jalaquduq district, a previously convicted resident born in 1950 was found to be storing 20 kilograms and 400 grams of marijuana at his home with the intent to sell. The narcotics were seized as material evidence, and a criminal case has been initiated against the suspect.

Earlier, it was reported that a man who illegally detained and tortured a citizen of Tajikistan was arrested in Denau city, Surkhandarya region.
