9400Students from School No. 19 in the Koshkopir district of Khorezm were seen covering windows with cellophane as part of an effort to prepare the school for the autumn-winter season. The incident, captured on video, led to a complaint to QALAMPIR.UZ, raising concerns about students doing maintenance work themselves.
The Khorezm Region Department of Pre-school and School Education responded, stating that a working group reviewed the situation. According to their findings, on November 1, the school's deputy director of economic affairs had initiated the task of covering wooden window frames with cellophane, assisted by school workers. When they left for lunch, three fifth-grade students—identified as J.J., A.S., and A.Z.—attempted to continue the task themselves, climbing onto a bench to apply the covering. Another student filmed the incident.
Following this, the school director was warned to ensure student safety and to uphold strict adherence to technical safety regulations to prevent similar incidents.
It’s noteworthy that a similar situation occurred in October 2023, when 9th-grade students from the same school were reportedly taken to work in rice fields.
