Administrative buildings will be constructed in the city of Khiva, and all government organizations currently operating across the city will be relocated to a single complex. This was announced on May 2 during a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focused on the priority tasks for the socio-economic development of the Khorezm region.

It was reported that, as part of the privatization program, 41 government buildings and 350 hectares of land will be put up for sale in Khorezm in 2025.

“This is a great opportunity for the service, tourism, and manufacturing sectors,” said the President.

For example, in Urgench, studies identified 45 government buildings with a total area of 61,000 square meters and 21 hectares of land. Officials noted that these properties could be transformed into hotels, service and shopping centers, and entertainment venues, creating at least 500 jobs.

The President emphasized that only tourist-oriented facilities should remain in the city of Khiva. All administrative buildings will be constructed on vacant land in the Angarik neighborhood, and state institutions currently operating within the city will be moved to this new location.

Relevant officials were instructed to prepare a comprehensive program for the sale of all government buildings in Urgench and Khiva.

For reference, on March 19, during a meeting with representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, President Mirziyoyev announced plans to relocate all state agencies in 15 districts and cities to single, multi-story administrative buildings in district centers. A presidential decree adopted the same day approved the list of territories where the initiative will be implemented. Earlier, the State Assets Management Agency put the Shaykhantohur district administration building in Tashkent up for sale.
