3044Today, April 1, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by Liu Jianchao, Head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.
It was noted that the high-ranking guest conveyed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek leader.
During the meeting, discussions focused on further expanding multifaceted cooperation and practical partnership between Uzbekistan and China in line with the agreements reached at the highest level.
“Over the past years, Uzbekistan-China relations of friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership under all circumstances have reached a high level,” the statement emphasized.
The volume of mutual trade and investments continues to grow steadily, and the number of joint projects and enterprises involving leading companies in priority sectors of the economy is increasing.
Additionally, practical work is underway on the construction of the “China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan” railway project. Active interregional ties and cultural-humanitarian exchanges were highly praised. This year, the next Regional Forum and Education Forum are set to take place.
Furthermore, special attention was given to expanding inter-parliamentary and inter-party cooperation, particularly in areas such as poverty reduction, anti-corruption efforts, digitalization, and industrialization.
The importance of further developing cooperation in higher and professional education was also highlighted, including the opening of branches of China’s leading universities in Uzbekistan.
Earlier, it was reported that the former technical school building in Chirchik, Tashkent region, would be demolished to establish a branch of a prestigious Chinese higher education institution.
