The international tournament “Tata Steel Chess-2023” hosted by the Netherlands has come to an end.  The matches in the “Masters” group, which includes the world’s strongest chess players, have also ended.

Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Abdusattarov, who was the main contender for the victory, lost against the host Van Forest in the last round and settled for 2nd place.  The host Anish Giri won this group.  In the last round, Giri defeated Romania’s Richard Rapport and won the title.

Javahir Sindorov from Uzbekistan, who participated in the “Challenger” group, played against host Tomas Berdsen in the last round.  Sindorov, who won the victory with the white pieces, took the 3rd place in the competition.  Sindorov scored 8.5 points from 13 chances.  Sindorov lost only once during the tournament.

Alexander Donchenko from Germany took first place in the “Challenger” group.  2nd place was taken by Mustafa Yilmaz from Turkey.
