An internationally wanted Uzbek citizen was detained at the "Jaysan" railway checkpoint in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
The individual had been sought by the Interpol National Central Bureau under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova on charges of illegal drug trafficking. The suspect, along with others, allegedly organized an international drug trafficking network in 2013. When attempting to enter Moldova, 46 grams of heroin were discovered in his possession.
The detainee is currently being held in a temporary detention center.
It is also worth noting that earlier, in the Kirov district of St. Petersburg, Russia, an Uzbek man was arrested with 15 kilograms of hashish. A criminal case was initiated against him for the illegal production, sale, or attempted shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogues (Part 3 of Article 30, Subparagraph "g" of Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and he was subsequently arrested.
