From the next academic year, free meals will be provided in schools

Starting from the 2023/2024 school year, all regions of the republic and the city of Tashkent will provide free meals to elementary school students.  This was stated in the state program on the implementation of the development strategy of New Uzbekistan for the period of 2022-2026, signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday, 28 February.

In this case, it is ensured that the types of food are delivered according to the age and health status of the pupils and will meet the sanitary requirements.

In order to improve the quality of education and reform the field based on advanced foreign experience, starting from 1 September 2023, one general secondary educational institution of each district (city) will train pupils in two foreign languages and one profession.  Teaching practice is introduced step by step.

Starting from the 2023/2024 academic year, gradually educating students in general secondary educational institutions in the spirit of universal and national values, patriotism, as well as communication skills, critical and creative thinking, team work, and educational programs that are focused on the formation of skills such as research, will be put into practice.

In this:

• teaching pupils in grades 1-4 of general secondary educational institutions according to textbooks developed on the basis of advanced foreign experience;

• To provide pupils with basic knowledge of general education subjects in grades 5-9;

• The practice of imparting knowledge on the basis of specialized programs suitable for the interests and abilities of 10-11th graders will be introduced.
