Unknown individuals cut down healthy plane tree in Kokand (video)  

Reports have circulated on social media that a healthy plane tree was cut down without reason in the 51st district of Kokand city. The Fergana regional Ecology Department has issued an official response to the incident.  

According to the report, the Fergana regional prosecutor's office, the Kokand city department of the regional Ecology Department, and the Internal Affairs Department conducted a joint survey in the area of the 53rd multi-storey building of the A. Khokandi district in Kokand.

The investigation revealed that unknown individuals had sawed off a perennial plane tree from its base without any authorization. An urgent investigation was conducted with the participation of relevant authorities, and a report was compiled. The damage to the flora was estimated at 117 million sums.  

The report noted, “Any violation is led by someone at the top. It is very sad that sometimes an ordinary worker, on someone else's orders, commits a violation of the law and causes harm to himself and society.”  

The collected documents related to the case have been submitted to the Kokand city prosecutor's office, and the investigation is ongoing. Further information will be provided once the investigation is completed.  

It is worth noting that earlier, in the "Khojayuz" neighborhood of the Taylak district in the Samarkand region, another perennial plane tree was illegally cut down near the pond of the mahalla. The tree was cut down by a resident, S.R., without any permits, causing damage to nature estimated at 115,125,000 sums.
