Fergana authorities continue crackdown on drug trafficking

5322As part of the “Safe and Healthy Nation” operation, which runs from April 15 to May 15 in the Fergana region, law enforcement detained two individuals selling narcotics in Kokand. The arrests were confirmed by the regional police department.
Authorities reported that a 2004-born resident of Bog‘ibanon Street and a 2000-born resident of Orzu Street had agreed to sell one kilogram of hashish for $18,000. They were apprehended while attempting to sell 560 grams of the drug, and physical evidence was collected at the scene.
Relevant legal procedures have been initiated, and the case is currently under pre-trial investigation.
Previously, on April 6, police conducted another drug-related operation in Beshariq district, where two suspects were caught attempting to sell more than 11 kilograms of opium and hashish valued at $150,000 on the black market. The suspects were intercepted while trying to sell the drugs for $90,000, and they were arrested with physical evidence in their possession.
