A report was given on the inspection processes being carried out in Karakalpakstan

Earlier, we reported that a commission was formed to study the events that took place in the Republic of Karakalpakstan on 1-2 July of the current year in order to conduct an independent investigation.  The commission chaired by Feruza Eshmatova, representative of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan on human rights (Ombudsman), presented the first report on the investigations.

It is noted that the commission is conducting investigative activities divided into groups in order to fulfill the tasks assigned to it.  In order to ensure transparency in the activities of each group, the ongoing work is being documented.  In addition, they are recorded using audio, photo, and video tools.

"Members of the commission first talked with the patients being treated at the central hospital of the Republic of Karakalpakstan branch of the Republican Emergency Medical Research Center and studied the circumstances related to human rights, freedoms, and legal interests in the events that occurred.

In addition, discussions were held with military personnel and employees of internal affairs departments who are being treated at the military hospital of the North-Western Military district and the military hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. During the interview, the behavior of protesters and military personnel was studied.

In addition, the members of the commission visited the center of Forensic Medical Expertise of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and got acquainted with all the necessary materials related to the events.

At the same time, the work of the members of the commission continues.
