The first Consul General of Uzbekistan is appointed in Osh, Kyrgyzstan

Zafar Akhmedov, the newly appointed Consul General of Uzbekistan, arrived in Osh today, as reported by 'Dunyo' NA.


Reportedly, prior to this appointment, Akhmedov served as the head of the Consular Legal Department and is 54 years old. He graduated from the Khorezm Pedagogical Institute (now Urganch State University) in 1992.


Throughout his career, he has worked as a school teacher, at the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system, including a posting at the embassy in Pakistan. Additionally, he served as an adviser to the chairman of the Committee on International Relations and Friendship with Foreign Countries.


The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Osh was established in 2022, covering the consular district that includes Botken, Jalalabad, and Osh regions of Kyrgyzstan.
