In Samarkand, a businessman who was connected to gas and electricity was caught

In Samarkand region, an entrepreneur who arbitrarily connected to natural resources and caused damage to the state of more than 5 billion soms was identified.  This was reported by regional law enforcement organizations.

It is noted that A.A, a resident of Kattakorgan city, was illegally connected to natural gas and electricity without registering as an entrepreneur.  He illegally connected to gas and electricity sources and established 3 lime shops on 33 acres of land.

It was found that the illegal activity of the citizen A.A was not limited to only one area.  In 2 houses located in “Gozal” neighborhood of Kattakorgan district, he installed a total of 4 furnaces, connected to natural resources in this area and engaged in illegal lime production.

Cases of violations of the law were duly formalized by law enforcement officials.  The initial estimate of the damage was 110 million soms for electricity and more than 5 billion soms for natural gas.

“Currently, measures are being taken to make a legal assessment of the identified situation.  Such inspection measures are being continued,” said the information provided by the regional law enforcement organizations.

It should be recalled that on 2 March of this year, at the thirty-seventh plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, senators approved the law on equating the illegal use of electricity, gas and water with the crime of theft in Uzbekistan.  This law came into force on 13 March.
