Secret electronic cigarette manufacturers detained in Kibray

A clandestine workshop producing electronic tobacco products has been uncovered in the Kibray district of Tashkent region. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the report, an operational raid conducted by the Tashkent city department of the agency revealed that tobacco and electronic tobacco products of various brands were being sold without proper documentation at retail outlets owned by “B.S” LLC. A total of 144,567 packs of tobacco products, worth nearly 12 billion sums, were seized as material evidence. These included 56,225 electronic cigarettes, 25,714 bottles of electronic cigarette liquid, 10,668 units of vaping equipment, and 3,800 hookahs.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a clandestine workshop operated by three individuals in a non-residential building on the territory of the "Haydarabad" municipal enterprise in Kibray district. The facility was found to be producing electronic tobacco products that failed to meet health safety standards.

During the inspection of the workshop, authorities seized 2,175 units of electronic cigarette liquid valued at 500 million sums, two 250-kilogram containers of substances resembling glycerin and glycolic acid, 42 packages of electronic tobacco labels of various brands, electronic scales, measuring containers, flavorings, packaging equipment, 567 finished electronic tobacco products, and other materials used in production.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 179 (False Entrepreneurship) and Article 186¹ (Illegal Sale or Production of Ethyl Alcohol, Alcoholic Products, and Tobacco Products) of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are currently underway.

It should be recalled that earlier, a drug laboratory producing synthetic narcotics was discovered in a house located in the "Mindanobod" neighborhood of the Fergana region.
