Today, October 7, at 3:45 p.m., a fire broke out at a gas filling station in the Karshi district of the Kashkadarya region, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The incident occurred when a flash of gas-air mixture ignited while gas was being transferred from a Kamaz-512 truck to the station's storage tank. The gas station is located along the Guzor-Karshi highway, near the "Dasht" neighborhood of Karshi district. The fire was reportedly caused by a lightning strike.
In response, four fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene at 3:56 p.m. The fire was brought under control by 4:00 p.m. and fully extinguished by 4:45 p.m. The roof of a building at the station, covering an area of 22 square meters, was damaged in the fire.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities. The cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage are currently under investigation. Regional and district emergency service leaders were present at the scene.
