Market manager caught taking a bribe in Kashkadarya

A market manager in Kashkadarya region has been detained for allegedly offering to legalize a shop that lacked proper documentation for an entrepreneur. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to the report, the head of one of the markets operating in Dehkanabad district abused his official position by telling a citizen who wanted to engage in business that he could sell him a retail shop located in the market area that did not have the necessary documents and later register it in the buyer’s name. In return for this service, he demanded 80 million soums.

During a sting operation, the official was caught red-handed while receiving $6,600 from the entrepreneur, and material evidence was seized.

A criminal case has now been opened against him, and investigative actions are under way.

Earlier, in Tashkent region, a lawyer was detained while receiving $10,000 after promising to have a two-year prison sentence replaced with a lighter punishment.
