Man commits suicide after killing his wife and daughter in Kashkadarya

On November 24, a tragic incident occurred in the Kitab district of the Kashkadarya region, where a man killed his wife and nearly three-month-old daughter before taking his own life. Hayot Shamsutdinov, a spokesperson for the Prosecutor General's Office, confirmed the report to QALAMPIR.UZ.  

The incident took place in the "Oqsuv" residential complex. According to the report, the man, born in 1998, fatally stabbed his wife, born in 1996, and their infant daughter, who was born on September 1, with a kitchen knife in their apartment around 1:00 p.m. The act is believed to have been caused by changes in the man's mental state. Following the murders, he took his own life by hanging himself in the outbuilding of his house using a rope.  

The Kitab district prosecutor has initiated a criminal case under Article 97 of the Criminal Code (Intentional murder).  

For context, the deceased had been listed as a patient at the regional psychiatric hospital since 2006.  

It is worth noting that last month, in the Boyovut district of the Syrdarya region, a 13-year-old boy was involved in another disturbing case. A distant relative, F.J., who was also registered at a psychiatric dispensary, allegedly demanded the boy kill him with a knife. When the boy refused, F.J. reportedly threatened him, leading to the boy fatally stabbing him in an act of self-defense.
