In Kashkadarya, 2nd graders were asked to pay taxes

A video showing tax inspectors demanding tax payments from 2nd graders has circulated on social networks. The authorities of the State Tax Service have responded to this situation.

According to the video, the incident occurred at the 14th School in the Nishan District of the Kashkadarya Region.

"I congratulate you all on the new school year and wish you success in your studies. We are representatives from the Nishan District Tax Inspection. This is a reminder for you. Please inform your parents. Property and land taxes for your place of residence must be paid either by visiting the tax inspectorate or by using the tax application on your phone. You are being asked to do this. The property owner should make the payment," says the employee in the video.

The authorities of the State Tax Service strongly condemned the incident at the school in Kashkadarya Region, deeming it inappropriate behavior. Additionally, a service review has been ordered against the employees involved in these actions. The Children's Ombudsman is also investigating the matter.

"It is completely unacceptable for individuals not involved in the school's educational process to enter and disrupt the educational environment, make unlawful demands on children, and grossly violate educational procedures. This behavior is incomprehensible!" stated the Children's Ombudsman.

According to the Ombudsman, children are not responsible for their parents' tax obligations and should never be involved or warned about this process.

"This is contrary to the rights and interests of children protected by the Constitution and the law. Appropriate measures must be taken against those responsible for such inappropriate actions," the statement reads.

It should be noted that in July of the previous year, employees of the Internal Affairs Agency taught children to differentiate between black and white at a state pre-school education organization in the Uchtepa District of Tashkent City.
