Murodjon Azimov was confirmed as governor of the Kashkadarya region

5239On November 6, Murodjon Azimov was officially confirmed as the governor of the Kashkadarya region at an extraordinary session of the Kashkadarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies, held in Karshi. This was reported by the regional press service.
During the session, Ismigul Berdimurodovna Khushmurodova was elected as chairman of the Kashkadarya Council of People’s Deputies.
The party groups of deputies were also registered, and the regulations of the Regional Council, along with the rules for permanent commissions, were approved.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev nominated Azimov for the governorship, and his appointment was subsequently approved by the Council.
Azimov, born in 1976 in Kashkadarya, has an extensive background in public service. From 2014 to 2016, he served as the prosecutor of the Bukhara region, and from 2016 to 2018, he was deputy general prosecutor of Uzbekistan. Azimov, a Major General, led the State Customs Committee from February 2018 until November 18, 2021.
This confirmation follows recent approvals for regional leaders in Samarkand, Khorezm, Navoi, Jizzakh, Bukhara, Tashkent region, and Tashkent city.
