An investigator from the prosecutor's office in the Karshi district of the Kashkadarya region was apprehended while accepting a $5,000 bribe. This incident was reported by Hayot Shamsutdinov, the spokesperson for the General Prosecutor's Office, to QALAMPIR.UZ.
The investigator, in the course of his duties, offered to provide leniency to a guilty party in a criminal case but solicited $5,000 from the individual. However, law enforcement apprehended him at 16:10 on April 8.
Following this incident, a criminal case was initiated, and the suspect was detained according to legal procedures. Currently, an investigation is underway.
It's worth noting that in Tashkent and Samarkand, lawyers have also been arrested for promising reduced sentences to convicted individuals through abuse of their positions.
