Snow has fallen in Kamchik Pass

Today, 16 February at 1:40 am, it was reported that an avalanche hit the 239th km section of the road around Kamchik pass.  In the morning, it was said that a landslide was also recorded at the 234th kilometer.  Erkin Abdulakhatov, the representative of Uzbekistan Hydrometeorological Center, gave information about this.

“The after-effects of the landslide are being dealt with by the unitary enterprise for the use of specialized roads “Kamchikavtoyol”, the message says.

Due to the closure of the pass, an additional railway flight Ohangaron-Angren-Andijan was made at Angren and Ohangaron railway stations for passengers planning to go to the valley regions in order to provide convenience to the population.

“With the cooperation of the Emergency Situations Department of the Tashkent region, passengers were ensured to reach their destination safely,” the report says.

It is noted that, due to the risk of avalanches, traffic on the pass was stopped yesterday, 15 February from 10:40 p.m.  Uzbekistan Hydrometeorological Center warned of the danger of avalanches on the 228-253 km section of the pass from 01:30 a.m. on 16 February.
