The “Kamchik” pass has been reopened for car traffic

 Earlier, it was reported that the “Kamchik” pass was temporarily closed to car traffic on 4 January from 00:00 due to a risk of avalanches.

According to the Ministry of Emergencies, this pass has been reopened for vehicular traffic.

“Under the leadership of the Ministry of Emergencies, in cooperation with relevant services, a reception and evacuation headquarters for citizens was formed, and in cooperation with the Joint Stock Company “Uzbekistan Railways”, train services were launched for stranded passengers by a special flight, and warming centers were organized.

In addition, together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the road patrol service and the employees of “Kamchikavtoyol”, the work of clearing the road from snow, preventing the formation of ice and sprinkling the sand-salt mixture was carried out non-stop.  As a result of the necessary measures taken, today, 4 January at 10:00 a.m., the “Kamchik” pass was reopened for vehicle traffic,” the ministry’s official statement said.

According to information service of FVV KALAMPIR.UZ, more than 2300 passengers were evacuated.  877 cars were taken to a safe place.

Also, when the “Kamchik” pass was temporarily closed, a total of 113 items of special equipment, 250 personnel, and 585 workers were involved in the process.
