The situation follows Israeli missile strikes on Iran that took place on June 13, during which several high-ranking Iranian commanders and civilians were killed, and damage was inflicted on nuclear facilities. According to reports, the attacks resulted in the deaths of about 20 senior military officials and key nuclear scientists.
In retaliation, Iran launched a counterattack on Israel, firing over 200 drones and ballistic missiles toward Israeli territory. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the strikes and reported that air defense systems were immediately activated. Initial reports indicate that five people were killed and more than ten others injured in the Iranian attack.
