Spain plans to open an embassy in Tashkent.  This was discussed yesterday, 1 December in the Polish city of Lodz between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, Jose Manuel Albares Bueno. 

During the meeting, the heads of the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Spain discussed the current state of Uzbekistan-Spain multilateral cooperation and the prospects for its development. 

As noted, Uzbekistan considers Spain a reliable and promising partner in Europe and officially welcomes Madrid's plans to open an embassy in Tashkent shortly. 
The parties noted the effective results of the seventh round of Uzbekistan-Spain political consultations held in March of this year and expressed their readiness to continue the dialogue in this form. 

"To increase the indicators of foreign economic relations, to activate direct relations between the business circles of the two countries, to implement joint promising projects, to study the opportunities of the Uzbek market, concrete proposals were considered regarding the organization of the visit of the leading companies of Spain to Uzbekistan," said the message of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. 

The ministers also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the fields of tourism, cultural-humanitarianism, and education.
