Earlier today, a fire was reported at the under-construction Center of Islamic Civilization in the Olmazor district of Tashkent city. The blaze has now been extinguished, the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced.

The ministry stated that the fire was caused by a disruption in the technological process during the installation of insulation materials on the building’s roof.

The flames were contained at 11:32 and fully extinguished by 11:34. Insulation materials on the roof were burned and damaged over an area of 19 square meters.

According to officials, no civilians were injured in the incident, the building’s interior remained intact, and no rare exhibits were stored in the facility at the time.

It is worth noting that a similar fire recently occurred in a two-story teahouse near the historic Kalyan Minaret in Bukhara, where the roof was damaged over an area of about 100 square meters. No injuries were reported in that case either
