There is a global crisis of confidence. Problems in the functioning of global security institutions and the departure from the norms of international law are on the rise. All of this is causing a widespread increase in tension. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, stated this in his speech at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 19.

According to him, the next session of the General Assembly of the United Nations is taking place during a period of fundamental changes in the international relations system. "Due to geopolitical conflicts, new obstacles are emerging in the way of free exchange in the fields of trade, investment, and innovation. It is evident that mutual dialogue has been lost even on issues concerning the fate of all humanity, such as climate change, the fight against hunger, and inequality," said the head of Uzbekistan.

In such a complex situation, he believes that the idea of maintaining the spirit of practical cooperation and collaboration, prioritizing common interests over existing conflicts, and fostering greater cohesion among nations is more relevant than ever. "Last year, we put forward the 'Samarkand Solidarity Initiative,' aimed at common security and development. Our main goal is to deeply understand the responsibility for the present day and the future of our countries and peoples and to engage all parties ready for open and constructive cooperation in global dialogue. I believe that holding the Future Summit next year at the initiative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations will serve to address current problems in international and regional development and further enhance the influence and effectiveness of our Organization," said Shavkat Mirziyoev.

For your information, on the first day of discussions led by Dennis Francis, the chairman of the session, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, leaders of member countries including President of the United States of America Joseph Biden, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Luis Inacio Da Silva, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and other heads of state participated.
