A mechanism has been introduced in Uzbekistan to organize cooperation between university students and commissioning organizations. This is outlined in the Regulation on the Procedure for Organizing Cooperation Between Students of Higher Education Institutions and Commissioning Organizations, approved by a government resolution adopted on January 9 this year.
The regulation establishes the procedure under which employers may cover tuition fees for undergraduate students in their second year or higher and subsequently employ them upon graduation.
According to the regulation, ministries, agencies, and organizations with more than 50 employees or investment projects worth at least $1 million may act as commissioning organizations when concluding tripartite agreements between higher education institutions and students.
Students wishing to participate in the selection process must submit an electronic application to their higher education institution by September 20 each year. The application must include a certificate of academic performance.
Applicants must also submit an application agreeing to work for the commissioning enterprise or organization after completing their studies.
To be eligible for selection, students must have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 in the current academic year.
Each year, by October 15, the selection committee will conduct interviews at higher education institutions to shortlist candidates. The conclusion provided by the representative of the commissioning organization will be considered the key selection criterion.
Students who sign a tripartite agreement and successfully complete their studies will be employed by the commissioning organization in accordance with established procedures after graduation.
Earlier, it was reported that the deadline for paying tuition fees for students had been extended until January 31, 2026.
