Citizens wanted by Interpol have been extradited from the United States and Poland to Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

According to the ministry, one of the wanted individuals was detained in Poland. After the necessary procedural requirements were completed, he was handed over to employees of the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan for criminal prosecution.

It was also noted that 39 Uzbek citizens who were illegally present in the United States were deported as part of measures to combat illegal migration. Among them was a suspect wanted through Interpol channels for large-scale fraud.

“This is the second positive example of the detention of internationally wanted criminals who came to the attention of US immigration services through the constant exchange of information and close cooperation between the US Embassy in Uzbekistan and the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan,” the ministry stated.

Upon arrival at Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport, the extradited individuals were met by officers of the National Central Bureau of Interpol and the Internal Affairs bodies to be transferred to law enforcement agencies and held accountable for their crimes.

It is worth noting that earlier, six internationally wanted citizens were detained in Turkey and brought to Uzbekistan. They are accused of committing various crimes, including human trafficking, large-scale fraud, and other serious offenses.
