The Ministry of Innovation is transferred to the “wing” of the Cabinet of Ministers headed by Umurzakov

9140The Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been transferred to the system headed by Sardor Umurzakov, Deputy Prime Minister for investment and foreign economic relations-the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade. This is stated in the decision of the government «On improvement of the structure of some subdivisions of the Cabinet of Ministers».
According to the decision, the 23rd application of the video-conference on the development of production cooperation and localization of production, held on 11 March 2022, under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it is planned to transfer the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the system headed by Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations – Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.
In addition, the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers for Investment, Export Development and Foreign Economic Relations has been given the staff unit of chief specialist from the Department of IT Technologies, Telecommunications and Research Development on the development of innovative activities and the implementation of research results in production.
According to the decision, the list of ministries, departments, business associations and other organizations subordinated to the Secretariat for Investment, Export Development and Foreign Economic Relations of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as local executive authorities, are as follows:
• Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade;
• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
• Ministry of Innovative Development;
• Ministry of Transport – on investment, exports, and logistics;
• Ministry of Finance – on investments and foreign economic relations;
• Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction – on investment and foreign economic relations;
• Ministry of Construction – on the expertise of investment projects;
• State Customs Committee – on export support and import optimization;
• State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development – on import control and foreign trade;
• Agency for Plant Quarantine and Protection – on import control and foreign trade;
• Fund for Reconstruction and Development;
• “Uztrade” JSC;
• “O‘zbekekspertiza”JSC;
• “O‘zsanoateksport” JSC;
• JSC "National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan";
• “Asaka” JSCB (joint-stock commercial bank);
• “O‘zsanoatqurilishbank” JSCB;
• “O‘zagroeksportbank”JSCB;
- Commercial banks – on the financing of investment projects and the provision of charitable funds, as well as the development of action plans (“roadmaps”) on the results of high-level visits and monitoring their effective implementation;
- International and foreign financial institutions, offices of managers and representative offices;
- Ministries, departments, business associations and other organizations – on investment, export promotion and foreign economic relations;
- The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Regional and Tashkent City Authorities (Khokimiyats): Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Deputy Governor (Khokim) – Head of the Department of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Regions and Tashkent – investments and foreign economic relations, on the issues of implementation of action plans («road maps») on the outcomes of high-level visits.
